About Me
- Name: Comm's
- Location: Mesa, Arizona, United States
I've been pushing the limits of my endurance my whole life. I've been called a UNcommon man for my relentless pursuit of doing something bigger than I (or most) could possibly imagine. As a soldier, a marathoner, ironman triathlete or hiker, nothing is extreme enough. Finish lines are great, but the true adventure is what it takes to get to the starting line.

Comms - just saw that you are in the Clydesdale Category - never picked up on that before - "we are the same, Highlander...we are Brrrrothers!".
Good luck tomorrow!!!
I'll have your athlete tracker link on my page. I'll be up and running from 4:30-7 a.m. central time. I'll keep you in mind during my run. And since I'll be standing in a pulpit during the race, I'll add you and the entire field to the list of prayers for the day.
Good luck. You're already a winner just having worked through a rough winter to get to the start.
WOO HOO! Out of the water - hope you had a nice relaxing warmup and you're ready for a great ride!
TOTAL SWIM 2.4 mi. (1:44:14) 2:44/100m 1949
Woot! 10 minutes faster than IMFL to boot! Go go go Comm!
You're getting it done!! Well-paced!
T1: SWIM-TO-BIKE 8:43
FIRST BIKE SEGMENT @ 37 mi mark 37 mi (2:22:03) 15.63 mph
Been watchin' for ya all day.... watched for you to get out of the water, watching your bike splits now.... I didn't do much work in between customers, much preferred watching IM AZ online to vacuuming and whatever else I was supposed to be doing.
Still watching you!
I am so happy you finished the bike! Go Comm!!!!!
Sounds like it was really tough going out there, but you picked up 26 places in the bike leg!!!
SECOND BIKE SEGMENT @ 112 mi mark 83.6 mi (5:45:36) 14.51 mph
TOTAL BIKE 112 mi. (8:07:39) 13.78 mph 1924
Good job finishing the bike! Keep going Comm!
Whew! I just finally saw your bike results. I was sweatin' it, checking every few minutes. Joanna Zeiger said it was really windy out there. I've been checking NOAA and my "weather pixie" and finding the same. Even blowing dust? Ewww...
Great job, Comm! It was so much easier to track you as an official volunteer at IMFL. The athlete tracker is a little unsatisfying.
Joe and I are sending good vibes your way. I'll track you as long as possible.
GO COMM!!!
I hear it's windy out there - hang tough! Hope there's not a lot of sand blowin' around. As I recall there are a couple spots where you actually run through a little sand to get back to the pavement and it starts to feel- well - sandy in your shoes!
We are with you in spirit!
BTW, my x/c coach (John Shelp) just came in in 9:48. It was his first race as a pro!
I hope everything's all right out there. The website isn't showing your bike-to-run transition time. I hope it's just a technical glitch.
I have to hit the sack, Comm, but I just wanted to say you rock. Thanks for taking us along on the ride today. Well done on a tough, unforgiving day.
Yeah, what Nancy said. You rock. I've kept watching the wind and going, egads....
You are a champion in my eyes, Comm.
Been with you all day...
Gee I hope the tracking system isn't working..run Comm run!
Hoping for the best Comm. Hoping it's a technical glitch too.
watching and waiting...
Hey Comm, Here’s hoping that you break through tonight. I was there as an observer, and I feel for everyone who had to tackle those winds. As an observer, I can say that all the athletes out there today were an inspiration to those who looked on. Regardless of the finish you deserve the congratulations for waking up to a day that very few can fathom.
I hear it was a brutal day out there, Comm. Check in soon!
Hope you're OK, Comm.
Comm, Bigun and I kept up with you until we had to go to bed. Hope all is well. We watched the race and those winds looked brutal.Hope you're OK
We'll let you sleep in, but when you are up, remember you have about a hundred friends waiting to hear about your day. We love you, Comm.
hugs,
Jenny
Watched you all the way... hope you're all right and feeling proud of how far you've come!
proud of you for toe'in-the-line, and representin'...
love you like a brothah!
I hope you are well. All the best, Phil.
Hey Comm, Andy said he spoke to your wife and said you were ok but I'd like to hear from you.
It was good to meet and race with you!
comm, it was a brutal day out there. just spectating, the wind was knocking us all around. when you're ready, please let us know how you are, we're all thinking about you. hugs.
Thinking of you and am waiting with baited breath to hear about your day....(good OR not so good...!)
Hey Comm was tracking you all afternoon and most of the night. I'm anxious to hear how it went down. Wish I could have been there racing with you.
c,
i was riding my bike yesterday against a huge, unrelenting headwind. after about two hours, my legs were like wet noodles and i thought, i simply couldn't do this during an ironman. then booted up my computer and read about the winds in arizona ... all your fans are anxious to hear your tale. and what's the over-under on how many times you threw up. :) at any rate, we're all here for you.
